Cilantro (Coriander)

Plant it in late winter or fall before the heat sends it to seed.

Type: Annual herb

Sun / water: Full sun / every other day in early spring and early summer

When I plant it: Late winter or fall. Cilantro does not like the heat and flowers when it gets too warm.

What I’ve seen

Goes to seed in summer, as it is not heat tolerant.

How I use it

Leaves: moderate flavor, for Mexican and Asian dishes. Seeds (coriander): moderate flavor, for sausage and baking.
