Sweet Potato

Toss a tuber in the ground and it will take over.

Type: Groundcover (edible)

Sun / water: Full sun / water as needed

When I plant it: Toss tubers in the ground about any time of year and they will grow. Warning: they are prolific in Florida and will take over!

What I’ve seen

Purple trumpet-shaped flowers. Hardy and heat resistant; it spreads rapidly and will dominate the space.

How I use it

Mild. Pull or dig the tubers from the ground; bake or boil.
