Basil

Loves warm weather; pinch the flower spikes to keep it bushy.

Type: Annual herb

Sun / water: Full sun / water daily or every other day

When I plant it: Late winter. Basil loves warm weather but gets heat stressed after a long, hot summer.

What I’ve seen

The toppers flower white, and basil does not like the cold. Trim the flower spike down at least two leaves to encourage bushing.

How I use it

Mild. Pesto, pizzas, sauces, grilling.
