Type: Florida native shrub
Sun / water: Full sun / little water once established
When I plant it: Early spring, summer. Cut back in late winter.
What I’ve seen
Requires little care except trimming back in the spring, and occasionally in fall depending on size and preference.
How I use it
Firebush is a great Florida native pollinator attractor. It draws a variety of butterflies and bees, and it also attracts hummingbirds.
This profile shares what I have experienced growing this plant in my Central Florida garden. I am not a certified horticulturist, so results in your garden may differ.
