Type: Tree
Sun / water: Tolerates full sun in the early morning but prefers dappled sun / water as needed
When I plant it: Late winter, spring.
What I’ve seen
Olive trees are Mediterranean plants, which means they prefer lower humidity than we get in Florida. Mine lives in dappled shade and is thriving. It will not tolerate cold winter nights and will need to be brought indoors or covered.
How I use it
This tree was about 3 feet tall when I bought it in the spring. It is pictured next to a 6-foot fence.
This profile shares what I have experienced growing this plant in my Central Florida garden. I am not a certified horticulturist, so results in your garden may differ.
