Zucchini

Not a heat lover: sow it when the nights are cooler and trellis the vine.

Type: Vegetable (vine)

Sun / water: Full sun / water daily until established

When I plant it: Late winter, early spring, early fall. I sow it directly into the bed and trellis the vine.

What I’ve seen

Zucchini produces yellow flowers and is not a heat lover. It prefers the less hot nights.

How I use it

Mild. Zucchini can be eaten raw, tossed in salads, grilled, fried, or used in sauces as an added source of daily vegetables.

This profile shares what I have experienced growing this plant in my Central Florida garden. I am not a certified horticulturist, so results in your garden may differ.
